yeah, i've gotta agree there. that one wasn't one of Aoyama's best written plot points to date. yelling really loudly in a biiiig Japanese mansion like that would make somebody hear something. thin wooden walls and waxed rice-paper doorways aren't exactly sound-proofing. especially a trained cop like Shu, or Shinichi's 'nose for trouble' DetectiveTingle ;)

Oh there was that Kudo Yusaku's Cold Case episode when the two directly interacted for the first time, but that time Sera definitely did not know yet who Subaru really was. And the very first meet was the Detectives' Nocturne if im correct.

She's like one of the only people (actually, is she the only one?) that consistently scolds Conan it's great.

She's like a mom sometimes and a kids sometimes to conan always great. their interaction def one of the more important parts of DC I feel

I didn't like Ai at first and I think it was because the filler episodes made her, Conan, and Ran into a love triangle unnecessarily so she was always coming off as jealous. But in the canon episodes, she's good. I wish they didn't dilute her in the fillers.

I quite like her character because in all honesty, she perfectly matches Conan.

And I don't necessarily mean in a romantic way, but in a partners work. Their chemistry is great, because they tend to understand each other very well, moreso Haibara understanding Conan, reading him like a book.

Ultimately though, even though I think she's literally the better match Ran is the definitely girl for Shinichi. I haven't really seen anything that makes Ran good for Shinichi though, aside from her being very loyal to him. Because in most scenes when they're together, it's like the perfect guy making the moves on her and talking to her about stuff or saving her like a damsel in distress. The only time that's different is when she whips out her martial arts.

Idk, probably my hot take. But being as I've watched all of Conan and rewatched as well as watched all the movies and rewatched numerous times, when I think about Ran and Shinichi I can't see anything chemistry-wise besides the fact they knew each other since childhood and were always together.

I can see why you think Ai is a better match for Shinichi and a lot of others believe that too, however, I still see Ran as a good match for Shinichi.

For one, Shinichi fell in love with Ran from pretty much the first time they met. This never happened between Shinichi and Ai. There were a couple of canon episodes that implied that Ai liked Shinichi, but Shinichi never pursued it and in fact, didn't even realize it. He sees Ai so much as a friend that he never considered the possibility that she might like him romantically.

Just as Ran is loyal to Shinichi, Shinichi has been loyal to Ran. In addition to Ai, there had been a few other ladies that liked him. And for one girl, he straight out said that he liked another girl (Ran).

Just because Ran and Shinichi don't have a lot in common - in terms of solving mysteries and being child prodigies - they have other things in common. Their personalities and values match up. Both Ran and Shinichi have saved "bad guys", but Ai worked for them and only escaped because they were going to kill her. Ran also understands Shinichi and, at times, was able to tell from his face what was going on.

And interests don't always have to exactly align because then what would be the difference between Ai and Hattori in terms of pairing with Shinichi? If we are going straight off of who has the same hobbies, chemistry, and understands Shinichi the most, it would be Hattori. In fact, they are even more similar because they both love their childhood best friend. The only thing Ai really has in common with Shinichi is that they were both shrunk and child prodigies. But even then, Hattori would also be considered a prodigy.

But look at Shinichi's parents. One is a celebrated mystery novelist, who is quiet and reserved, while the other is a celebrated former actress who is loud and extroverted. Shinichi's mom can't solve a mystery, but that doesn't stop Yusaku from loving her or leaving her for someone else.

But, just like you, this is just my opinion. Sorry for the novel, once I started typing, I couldn't stop lol

Well, like I said originally, when I say match I refer mostly to chemistry and their ability to almost fit together.

Seem to understand each other to a pretty good level. Obviously, at the end of the day Shinichi and Ran were made for each other, and there’s no arguing that.

But Haibara would be a close second if there was ever one.

Actually I never saw her as a love interest in the show especially filler that was in that way in the movies

Before anyone comments: Who watches this long anime, this anime is s*it. Know it that this is the most popular anime right from the 90s in Japan. And due to People's continuous support worldwide it has reached to this point that they produce anime without sponsors and release movies in 26 countries in the same month

The quality has definitely reduced and that is an unedniable fact but anyways, manga still has good cases and I hope that we get to see Yusaku Kudo's T.V. show case and F.B.I. serial murder case by next year and if possible, I would like to write some filler cases.

Watch this canon episode. The case as well as the plot progression is good. So this case (more 2 episode) is of good quality

Also, do people show hate towards One Piece and Naruto also? I don't watch them but if they are running for so long, they must be good in their respective genres. If people only hate Detective Conan then its partiality!

long long before most of the weebs here were even 'weebing' in their diapers Dragonball was so filled with cuts, recut, re-edits, reused footage, and YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! minutes long edited VA audio of screaming actors... that the anime was the biggest joke on the planet.

i've seen more than one film students' research projects published online where they went frame by frame and analyzed many 'middle of the era' older DB episodes. for almost 30 episodes the studio used 'Previously on Dragonball' with upwards of 5 minutes of old episodes' footage. sometimes footage that was 2 and 3 episodes ago. then 'Next Time on Dragonball' they spent almost another 5 minutes trying to cut the tiny bits of new footage they claimed was coming into a preview. but sometimes that 'new footage' was actually 'old footage' because when the next episode came out, there was barely any 'new footage' shown. so how did they create the 'Next Time on Dragonball' preview? they used old frames and edited them slightly.

here's a bit of a pie-chart game for you. when your pie is 24 minutes long, take that timeline and curve it around into a circle for your pie. ok the TV anime standard broadcast length is 24 minutes. the standard opening piece and ending piece animation is each 1m 30s long. so that's 3m of OP/EP. now cut yourself a 3 minute wide slice out of your pie. this leaves 21 minutes of 'body content' for the episode. this does NOT include the commercial breaks, just the anime itself. so 'Previously On/Next Time on Dragonball' at the worst those were 5 minutes apiece. so, hack out a 10-minute slice of your pie. that leaves you with 11 minutes of 'body content'. interesting pie hmm? your fresh pie... is just slightly 11 minutes long. :D now you know why DB used to be the biggest joke in anime world-wide. :D
